Treasurer’s Statutory Duties
- Collects real and personal property taxes
- Keeps an account of township receipts (revenues) and expenditures
- Prepares some financial reports
- Issues township checks
- Receives and deposits all township revenues and payments in approved depositories
- Invests township funds in approved investment vehicles
- Maintains records of treasurer’s office
- Must appoint a deputy
- Must post a surety bond

Tax Collection Schedule
December 2024 – February 2024 – 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
February 14, 2024 – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last day to pay winter taxes without penalty).
February 29, 2024 – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last day to pay Township Treasurer: March 1, 2024, turned over to Arenac County Treasurer).
July 2024 – September 2024 – 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
September 14, 2024, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last day to pay summer taxes without penalty).
September 30, 2024 – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last day to pay Township Treasurer: October 1, 2024, turned over to Arenac County Treasurer).

Payments may be made by mail, online, in person or left in the mail slot on the west side door. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE CASH.

ONLINE payments can be made at bsaonlinedeeprivertwp by credit/debit card or electronic check. The credit/debit card fee is 3% ($2.00 minimum) and electronic check fee is $3.00 for payment up to $10,000 and $10.00 for payment over $10,000.
Credit card payments are not accepted over the phone.
If you need a receipt sent to a different address than on the tax bill, please enclose a self-addressed envelope.
Dog licenses may be purchased from December 1st to February 28th. The cost is $5.00 if spayed/neutered; $20.00 if not sprayed/neutered. Please bring rabies vaccination certificate with you at the time of purchase.
Seasonal Tax Schedule
Summer taxes are mailed July 1st and are due September 14th. If September 14th is on a weekend or holiday, taxes are due the next business day. Beginning September 15th summer taxes are delinquent with the Township and a one percent (1%) interest fee will be added each month. The last day to pay summer taxes to the township treasurer is February 28th.

Application for Deferment of Summer Taxes
Winter taxes are mailed on December 1st and are due February 14th. Beginning February 15th Winter Taxes are delinquent with the Township and a 3% penalty will be added. The last day to collect winter taxes at the township is February 28th. If February 14th or February 28th is on a weekend or holiday, taxes are due the next business day.
On March 1st summer and winter rolls are turned over to the Arenac County Treasurer, 120 Grove St.
